Pooja Thali Decorations At Home

Brocade is a class of richly decorative fabrics which are shuttle-woven, often made into coloured silk clothing and sometimes with silver and gold threads.

The name Brocade is related to broccato which means "embossed cloth".

Brocade is typically woven on a drawloom traditionally.

It is a supplementary weft technique; the ornamental brocading is produced by a non-structural, supplementary, weft in addition to the standard weft that holds the wrapping threads together.

The purpose of this is to give the appearance that the weave is actually embroidered on rather than the impression.

You need a brocade cloth, some stones and pearls, adhesive and designer thread for this puja thali decoration at home.

Instructions:

Take the plate and stick the cloth on it using adhesive.

Make sure to cut the cloth in the same shape as the thali beforehand.

Keep it aside for a few minutes approximately to dry.

Now attach the stones and pearls by creating a design of your wish.

Stick designer threads all along the edges and inner corners for vibrancy and radiance.

4. Rajasthani Pooja Thali Decoration

Rajasthani Pooja Thali for Decorations

Bandhani is a type of tie and dye decorated by plucking the piece of cloth with the fingernails into many tiny bindings that form a curated and figurative design.

The term bandhani is derived from the Sanskrit language with the verbal root bandh which literally means to bind or to tie.

The art of Bandhani is a very highly skilled process.

The technique involves dyeing the fabric which is tied very tightly with a thread at multiple points, thus producing an array of patterns like Chandrakala, Bavan Baug, Shikari etc; depending on the manner in which the cloth is tied and dyed.

The main colours used in Bandhani are primarily yellow, red, blue, green and black.

The main colours used in Bandhani are natural.

As Bandhani is a tie and dye process, dying is done by hand manually and hence best colours and combinations are possible in Bandhani clothing.

You need a bandhani chunri cloth, yellow cloth, thali, adhesive and embellishments for the Rajasthani puja thali decoration at home.

Instructions:

Cut the cloth pieces in half and half with respect to the diameter of the thali.

Apply adhesive on the thali and spread it evenly and stick the cloth pieces.

Create Rajsthani murals or patterns using various embellishments.

Decorate the edge of the thali with lace or thread.

Once done, let it dry for a few minutes.

Now your puja thali decoration at home is complete!

Puja thali decoration is a very important and integral part of the process of puja during festivities among Hindus. Especially on a festival as significant as Diwali, the importance of a beautiful and devotional puja thali grows manifold.
